B.A.S.I.C.S., Inc. was created out of a belief by Executive Director, Fred A. Griffin II that our society and economy is in the midst of a profound transformation that is driven largely by technological innovation. We believe that we are at a unique time and place in history that is characterized by great challenges and even greater opportunity. We want to use information technologies to seize this moment and ensure that all people in Phoenix, Arizona, have the opportunity to have access to the new information tools to pursue their educational, economic and social objectives.
Phoenix is an under-served community whose members are talented and have the potential to develop desired and sought-after skills when the opportunity is available. Although Phoenix community members have little access to many resources and services, including computer technology, many know what they want to achieve and actively seek the resources available. B.A.S.I.C.S., Inc. recognizes that even our most economically disadvantaged community members are willing and able to invest in the resources available at B.A.S.I.C.S., Inc.
In short, B.A.S.I.C.S., Inc. is the place where everyone in Phoenix comes and get what they need technologically. Thereby, technology becomes a vehicle for empowerment. B.A.S.I.C.S., Inc.'s mission is to provide all residents of Phoenix, Arizona, with access to information technologies and with the opportunity to make full use of these technologies to further their economic, educational and social goals
